ℹ Formula Reference

Full Cuts / Bar = floor(stock_length / cut_length)

Total Stock Bars = ceil(qty / full_cuts)

Total Feet = total_sticks × (stock_length / 12)

Scrap Rate = (total_ft − qty × cut_ft) / (qty × cut_ft)

Mill EA = (Short_Cut_Total − Mill_Adj) × cut_ft

Saw Cut EA = (Short_Cut_Total − Mill_Adj) × total_ft/qty + Cut_Cost

Sale Price EA = Mfg_Cost / (1 − margin %)

Mill→Weld EA (B2B) = 2 × single_Mill_EA + Weld_Rate_Mill × cut_ft

Saw→Weld EA (B2B) = 2 × single_Saw_EA + Weld_Rate_Saw × cut_ft

Non-Standard Cut = cut_length % hole_increment ≠ 0

🪚 Saw Cut Operation

How many pieces the saw cuts per hour
Loaded labor + overhead rate for saw station
= LBR_OH / UPH

🔧 Mill Rate Adjustment

Small per-foot deduction applied to the Short-Cut Total rate when computing Mill EA. Derived from spreadsheet as col19 / 10 = 0.01.

🔗 B2B Weld Costs

Weld cost per foot of cut length when using Mill-to-Length method. Derived: $0.2707/ft.
Weld cost per foot of cut length when using Saw-to-Length then Weld. Derived: $1.2223/ft.
Note: Weld cost per piece = Rate ($/ft) × cut_length_ft. Mill→Weld adds this to 2× the single-channel Mill EA. Saw→Weld adds this to 2× the single-channel Saw Cut EA.

🔩 Hole Pattern Cut Increments

Each hole pattern has a minimum cut increment. If the requested cut length is not a multiple of this increment, the calculator flags it as a Non-Standard Cut.
